What is a Live Demonstration Workshop?
These are live Zoom workshops where you observe Dr. Abi conducting SE sessions with volunteer participants in real time. After each demonstration, the group deconstructs what happened: you'll map the nervous system tracking, see how intervention choices were made, and understand the moment-to-moment decision-making that shapes effective trauma work.
This is observational learning at its most valuable. You're not presenting your own cases here. Instead, you're watching a senior faculty member work and then unpacking exactly what happened in the body, the nervous system, and the therapeutic relationship.
Sessions are offered as 3-hour or 6-hour workshops, depending on the date.

During the Workshop
The workshop runs for either 3 hours or 6 hours on Zoom, depending on the date you choose. Dr. Abi conducts live SE sessions with volunteer participants who have agreed to work with her in front of the group.
You'll watch the session unfold in real time. After the demonstration, Dr. Abi replays key moments from the recording and deconstructs what happened. She'll walk through the physiological tracking, the decision points, the interventions used, and the reasoning behind each choice.
The group format allows for questions and discussion. You can ask about specific moments you noticed, what you were wondering about, or how particular SE® concepts showed up in the session.
These are live demonstrations. You attend and observe; you're not expected to present a case or volunteer yourself unless you specifically applied to be a demo volunteer beforehand.
Volunteer Participation & Recording
Most people attend to observe and learn. However, if you're interested in being a volunteer participant for a future demo, you can submit a volunteer application. Dr. Abi reviews applications and selects volunteers based on what will serve the learning of the group.
Live demonstration sessions are recorded and replayed during the event for educational purposes. Recordings may also be saved and used for future educational purposes with participant permission. All recordings remain within Dr. Abi's educational platform and are not distributed outside this community.
Students and third parties may not record demonstrations or use AI transcription. If you volunteer as a demo participant, your confidentiality is protected, and recordings are never shared beyond this educational platform.

About Dr. Abi Blakeslee
Dr. Abi Blakeslee is a senior faculty member with Somatic Experiencing International and holds a PhD in Clinical and Somatic Psychology. She has been teaching SE for over two decades and is the founder of Implicit Psychotherapy, Up-Level Dream Work and Co-Founder of the Interoception Institute based in the UK.
Her work integrates somatic psychology, implicit memory research, and attachment repair. She is known for her clear teaching style, clinical depth, and practical, ready-to-use tools that help practitioners translate complex theory into embodied practice.
In these consultations, Abi combines both her insightful mental health and touchwork clinical experience with her commitment to supporting practitioners.
