Dear Colleagues and Community,

I am honored to announce the official launch of my very own training program called Implicit Psychotherapy.  I have been developing this training for decades.  My book proposal is being negotiated!

This new training has a two fold purpose. First to train new therapists to the field and second to quickly train facilitators of Implicit Psychotherapy to run small four day certification groups around the country and world.

These three modules offer clinicians who have never studied a physiological, embodied cognition, exercise-focused attachement repair, and neuroscience-based training that is short-term, low cost, brimming with cutting-edge theory, and chock full of ready-to-use easy exercises with their clients.

Secondly, if you are Somatic Experiencing or Somatic Therapy trained and complete the course, you can immediately apply to be a training facilitator for Implicit Psychotherapy experiential groups. Once an online version of this program is launched, you'll become a certified facilitator for new practitioners of Implicit Psychotherapy in your own communities.

In order to center implicit memory practices, which include physiology and interoception, into the field of psychology facilitators of this program will need to have a mental health license.

I hope you will consider joining. Would you like to lead learning groups? Do you know anyone who is looking for a short low-cost highly effective model new to this field? I recently successfully ran this program in upstate NY with a diverse group of practitioners from Maverick Counseling Center and Samadhi Recovery Center. The reviews were excellent.

Those of you who have studied with me know that I bring scientific depth and practical knowledge to students combined with direct, ready to use practices.  There are only short dyad exercises and no triads throughout, so students will leave with many exercises and skills.

In time, this framework, which centers new learning in predictive implicit memory, will become central to our understanding of healing. Come join me on the embarkment of this new paradigm.

Module 1

Core Topics: Memory Systems in Therapy, Pathways to lay down New Implicit Learning, Interoception, Predictive Appraisal, Secure Attachment Exercises, Fostering Implicit Reconnection to Essential Self.

In this workshop, participants will learn how interoception, or conscious awareness of bodily sensation, is used in therapy. Learning how to observe and change ongoing survival physiological states, as well as learning how to guide clients to repair relational ruptures on an implicit level, can lead to long-lasting and deep states of change. Participants will learn exercises that they can use for themselves and with their clients right away. Drawing on up-to-date science and memory research, this workshop distills theory and practice with clarity. Working with implicit memory is a pathway to reinstate secure attachment, increase regulation, and restore a person's sense of essential self.

Module 2

Core Topics: Restoring Action, Agency, and Organization, Survival Physiology, Procedural Movement Reorganization, Boundaries, Depotentiation of Fear Arousal, Dissociation, Implict and Explicit Timelines, Flexibility, Sustainment and Success.

In this model, we will explore how to use the branches of procedural and associative implicit memory to extinguish traumatic memories of threat and disorganized attachment. Multiple exercises involving involuntary and voluntary procedural memory will be shared to increase your client’s capacity toward Agency, Action, and Organization. You will learn several types of boundary and protector exercises to restore and empower your clients. The science of chronic stress, also known as allostatic load, and how to invoke new implicit learning to restore the biology of recovery will be explored. How to depotentiate fear physiology will be a central theme throughout the workshop. We will also expand on how to engage dissociation directly, which is an essential clinical interventions when working with trauma. You will learn how to map and work with explicit and implicit timelines for more effective treatment plans. We will use interoception to optimize resiliency and the kindling flexibility, sustainment, and success.

Module 3

Core Topics: Essential Self-Source, Purpose and disrupting Negative Core Self Beliefs, Relational Strategies and Exercises, Dreams, Archetypes, Transgenerational Trauma and Healing, Collective Trauma, Ecopsychology, Birth and Dying and Transitional states, Creativity, and Future Self.

In this model, we will explore transformative engagement with implicit memory.  We will begin by deepening work with essential self and incorporating exercises to engage Source, Purpose, and Essence as well as disrupt Negative core self-beliefs.  We will learn more about attachment and relational strategies using procedural exercises and embodied metaphor.  We will have a full day of working with dreams with your implicit psychotherapy tools.  The next part of this training brings us more into collective themes, such as working with Archetypes as a way to take history, set goals, and shift survival physiology with your clients.  Working with transgenerational trauma and healing, along with heritage and future self exercises, will be offered.  The other topics we will cover are collective healing, birth and dying as transitional states, ecopsychology, and creativity.  I hope it will be an inspirational module for you all to conclude our training together.
