What is a Group Case Consultation?
This is a 3-hour online consultation session where you bring real cases from your practice and receive guidance from Dr. Abi, a senior SE faculty member. These consultations are scheduled at times optimized for practitioners in Australia and New Zealand.
You'll present challenges you're facing with clients, ask questions about nervous system tracking or intervention choices, and learn alongside other practitioners working through similar questions.
The format is collaborative. Dr. Abi facilitates the group and helps you think through what's happening in the body and nervous system using SE concepts like pendulation, titration, SIBAM, coupling dynamics, energy wells and physiological tracking.

During the Case Consultation
The session runs for 3 hours on Zoom. Dr. Abi hosts and facilitates the entire consultation.
You're welcome to present a case from your practice.
If you choose to present, you'll share a brief description of your client, the goals your client has, the challenges you're encountering, what SE you've tried, and what you're hoping to understand better. Dr. Abi will ask questions, offer observations about what might be happening in the nervous system, and help you think through new somatic experiencing skills and approaches.
You can also attend without presenting a case.
Many people learn just as much from observing how Dr. Abi works with other practitioners' cases. You'll hear the questions others are asking, the guidance Dr. Abi provides, and how different clinicians are navigating similar territory.
Submitting Cases & Confidentiality
The group format allows for multiple perspectives. You'll hear from peers who may have encountered similar situations or tried approaches you haven't considered yet.
If you want to submit a case to be considered, you don't need to write a lot to be offered a spot to consult. This isn't required, it simply gives Dr. Abi a chance to review what you're working with. Please submit questions three days prior to the consultation so she has time to review and consider.
